Our safari vehicles with the thatched roof for shade against sunny African wilderness; are the extended body with roomy seats for comfortable sitting and stretching out legs. Every guest is accessible to the window seat. Cars are also fitted with fridges, power charge sockets and VHF radio calls for easy and fast communication with the base office.

  • DAY 1 - 2

    Destination: Arusha

    Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the sprawling city of Arusha is known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the remarkably scenic surrounding area which includes majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from the safari circuit as it features a temperate climate and lush surrounds. Visitors can look forward to exploring the wildlife-abundant Serengeti National Park; the magnificent Arusha National Park; and taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth highest mountain.

    Description
    Masailand Safari & Lodge is located in the city of Arusha, Tanzania and is a few kilometres to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Accommodation at the lodge features a selection of 54 air-conditioned bedrooms. Each is equipped with a spacious bathroom, tea and coffee maker, flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi.   • DAY 2 - 3

    Destination: Karatu

    Travellers heading for the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater will pass through the town of Karatu in the green hills of Tanzania’s northern highlands. Presided over by the towering Ol Deani Volcano, this small, colourful town serves as a popular overnight stop for visitors exploring the area’s many game parks. The town offers a variety of activities including browsing the bustling marketplace, sampling beer at a local brewery, visiting a traditional homestead, or taking a guided walk through the Ngorongoro Forest in search of waterfalls and caves. Whether you are looking for cultural tours, hiking and biking opportunities, a chance to enjoy an authentic rural Tanzania experience, or simply a break between safari game drives, this underrated town has plenty to offer.

    Description
    Eileen's Tree Inn is idyllically set in the Crater Highlands town of Karatu and is an ideal option for lesiure travellers.     EILEEN'S TREE INN • KARATU
    Day Notes
    Today we head to Tarangire National Park. The park, which has its own source of water, comes into its own in the dry season as birdlife congregates on the Tarangire River and herds of giraffe, zebra, buffalo and, in particular, the elephant can be seen. Predators such as lions and leopards are also regularly spotted here. Our lodge is located outside the park with a stunning view of Ngorongoro Crater.   • DAY 3 - 5

    Destination: Seronera

    The Seronera region, in the central Serengeti, is set directly on the Great Migration route and offers excellent viewing of this incredible annual phenomenon, when countless wildebeest flood the area and move across the plains. While migratory game populations fluctuate seasonally, Seronera is still a wildlife hotspot at other times of the year, sheltering the Big Five, among many other species. A number of small campsites provide accommodation and visitors can enjoy hot air balloon trips and walking safaris as well as guided game drives.

    Accommodation: Serengeti Acacia Camp

    Description
    Serengeti Acacia Camps offers guests the perfect blend of old African charm and elegance in the heart of Serengeti National Park. This intimate safari camp is tucked beneath an Acacia tree, and has breathtaking views of the savannah plains of the Serengeti National Park. Here, you can experience full luxury in the wild. Serengeti Acacia Camps has ten canvas tents, all furnished with en-suite bathrooms, flush toilets and other essential amenities. These tents have paved pathways that connect them to the centralized lounge and dining areas, which are located under a soaring canopy of acacias, in the front of the camp. The En Suite options include: Double Tent, ideal for couples; Family Tent, ideal for 2 adults and 2 kids; and Triple Tent, which is perfect for groups of three.

    SERENGETI ACACIA CAMP • SERONERA

    We head towards the Serengeti National Park. En route game drives and there is an opportunity to visit Masai Boma alongside the way to Serengeti. There are always plenty of resident animals, such as giraffe, buffalo, and elephant, and many large predators such as lion, cheetah, and leopard in the park.     Day 4

    Day Notes
    We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; we can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest, sometimes by zebras, which travel with the wildebeest. We journey from the wide-open plains to the kopjes: these volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals and from the top, we can look out across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing, we will hopefully see all of the plain games; elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions and if you are lucky the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of the interesting birdlife, from the elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich.   • DAY 5 - 6

    Destination: Ndutu

    Set in the Arusha Region, Ndutu is situated in the northern part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area within the magnificent Serengeti. The surrounding landscapes are covered in sweeping grasslands which provide the perfect habitat for the migratory route for hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, antelope and zebra. Visitors can look forward to exploring the forest around Lake Ndutu, spotting an array of wildlife, and visiting the fascinating archaeological site at the Olduvai Gorge. Don’t miss the opportunity to jump on a game drive to view the spectacular herds of the annual Great Migration, enjoy a scenic hot air balloon ride over the plains and take a guided tour with the local Maasai and learn about culture and traditions. Other commonly spotted species include: leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval, African wildcat, and a variety of prolific birdlife.

    Accommodation: Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge

    Description
    This beautifully designed tented lodge is situated in Ndutu in the southeastern Serengeti plains within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a prime location for game drives and an ideal stopover to the neighboring Serengeti National Park. The lodge has 20 well appointed sleeping tents with a combination of Family Suites and individual Guest Tents offering a top- notch true African safari experience. Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge is built to blend into the natural environment dominated by acacia trees with a clear view of Lake Ndutu. All natural vegetation is preserved and the wildlife has a natural undisturbed stroll to the site. This is an eco-friendly lodge with solar power as the source of electricity, supported by two standby generators and invertors.
