Maun is the starting point for most expeditions into the Okavango Delta and as a result, has developed into a bustling metropolis that is considered Botswana’s tourism capital. Area attractions include a renowned riverboat that offers cruises up and down the Thamalakane River; the forest groves of the Maun Game Reserve; and Moremi Game Reserve, home to hippos, lions and rhinos. Maun also serves as the jumping-off point for many safaris and air charters as well as offering private 4×4 rentals. Day 2: Destination: Guma Lagoon
Guma Lagoon is found in the northern reaches of Botswana. This wonderful retreat on the banks of the Okavango River is a dream destination for animal lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, providing a range of sights and activities. Not only can visitors enjoy premium bird watching with over 200 native species and freshwater fishing opportunities, both spin and fly-fishing; but Guma Lagoon is also a fantastic base for self-guided game drives and traditional dug-out canoe (mokoro) tours, which allow you to navigate the palm islands and waterlily beds of the scenic Okavango. Other key activities include bush walks, forest trails and stargazing. Finally, note that accommodation is provided exclusively through Guma Lagoon Camp – and so advance booking, particularly for the self-catering units, is highly recommended.
Day 2: Destination: Amboseli National Park
Located in the southern reaches of Kenya, the Amboseli National Park is renowned for its excellent variety of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah and not surprisingly it is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The landscape of Amboseli is dominated by the majestic snowcap of Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as open plains, acacia woodland, swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok. The birding is excellent, especially closer to the lakes and swamps. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to large herds of elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions include opportunities to meet the Maasai people and soak up spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Day 4
MANKWE ADVENTURE CAMP • MOREMI GAME RESERVE
Day Notes
After breakfast we head south travelling via Maun to Mankwe Adventure Camp, situated on a private concession on the doorstep of the Moremi Game Reserve. The Reserve is renowned for its concentration of mammals and it is not unusual to see many different types of wildlife during just one game drive. Game viewing is seasonal; depending on the time of the year you may see different species in different areas. The best time for game viewing is the end of the dry season or spring from August to November. During this season, in order for us to offer the best game viewing possible, extra driving may be required due to the animals migrating closer to the river. In the summer, birdlife can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors. Accommodation: Mankwe Adventure Camp or similar (Meru-style canvas tents with en-suite bathrooms) on DBB basis

Day 7: Destination: Nata
Situated 180 kilometres north of Francistown, the small village of Nata is a popular stopover between Maun and Kasane along the ‘game drive route’ (there is often a chance to catch a glimpse of wildlife along the way). The unique surrounding landscapes feature white sand, tall termite mounds, and Mokolwane palm trees. The Nata Sanctuary is a particular highlight for avid bird watchers, where lucky visitors can be rewarded with large flocks of Flamingos and Pelicans, which breed here each year. The town is also a perfect base for exploring the legendary and spectacular Makgadikgadi Pans, where quad biking and four-wheel-drive tours can be enjoyed.

Day Notes
After breakfast, you will be collected from you hotel in Arusha and set off towards Tarangire National Park for a full day’s game drive. The breath-taking views of the Masai Steppe, and the mountains to the south, make this safari to Tarangire a truly memorable experience. Tarangire is as well known for its huge elephant population as it is for the striking baobab trees. It forms the centre of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephant, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebra that Tanzania is famous for. Overnight at Tarangire Simba Lodge on full board basis (FB)

Day 8: Destination: Kasane
Tucked away in the northeastern corner of Botswana, on the banks of the famous Chobe River, the scenic little town of Kasane rests on the doorstep of the spectacular Chobe National Park. There are no boundary fences separating the village from the park and game such as elephant and hippo are often spotted roaming around the town. If on the lookout for elusive game, pay a visit to the Sedudu Valley Road, where large dead trees provide temporary homes for leopards. Within Kasane, an ancient baobab tree stands on display, once serving as a local prison. Visitors can look forward to a multitude of activities including: enjoying a game drive through the park, taking a sunset cruise down the Chobe River, visiting a local village or jumping on a day trip to the breathtaking Victoria Falls.
Accommodation: Chobe Safari Lodge
Description
Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park. Right on the doorstep is the meeting of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Chobe Safari Lodge therefore offers an excellent getaway location to Chobe, Victoria Falls or Caprivi. The close proximity to Victoria Falls International Airport, Livingstone International Airport and Kasane International Airport makes it easily accessible, with daily road transfers or charter flights connecting all these airports with Chobe Safari Lodge.
